In IGNITE Show Designer and the IGNITE App, Duration simply means how long a firework will be visible in the sky after it’s ignited. Think of it like the “run time” of the effect.
For example, if you light a 5-second fountain, its duration is about 5 seconds. If you add a 15-second cake right after, you can line things up so there’s no empty “black sky” between them.
Many fireworks in the IGNITE catalog already come with a duration value, but you can always change it if your effect lasts longer or shorter than listed.
Does the Duration Time affect my show's timing?
Duration Time doesn’t automatically change when your next firework will fire, but you can use it to make timing easier.
For example, let’s say Cue 1 is a 36s Red Peony that lasts 25 seconds. Cue 2 is set to go off at the same starting time (00:00.0), but we actually want it to fire right after Cue 1 finishes.
Instead of doing the math yourself, just click on Cue 2’s Event Time and select “After previous event.” Show Designer will automatically move Cue 2 to the correct time—here, 00:25.0s (25 seconds after Cue 1 started).
The time in brackets (like 00:25.0s) shows you the new start time. Click Change, and Cue 2 will be set.
