An email address on your IGNITE account is required to subscribe to IGNITE LIVE!, receive billing receipts, and recover your account if you lose access to your usual way of signing in. This article explains when you need to add or update your email and how to do it.
Why your account might not have an email address
If you signed in to the IGNITE app with Apple and selected "Hide My Email," Apple provides a private relay address that we cannot use for billing or account recovery. In this case, your IGNITE account is created without a usable email address until you add one.
Google sign-in always provides an email address, so this normally only affects Sign in with Apple users.
When you will see the prompt
The IGNITE app prompts you to add an email address when you enable IGNITE LIVE! on the settings screen and the system detects no email is on file. You can also add or update your email at any time from the account settings.
How to add an email address
- Open the IGNITE app and go to the settings screen.
- Enable IGNITE LIVE! or open your account profile.
- When prompted, enter a valid email address you have access to.
- Save the change.
You will receive a confirmation message in the app once the address is saved.
How to update an existing email address
- Open the IGNITE app and go to the account or profile section of settings.
- Edit the email address field.
- Save the change.
If you receive an error
"This email address is already in use"
Another IGNITE account is associated with that email. Contact support with both the email address you tried to use and the sign-in method you currently use in the app. A support agent will review the accounts and help you consolidate access.
Any other error
Take a screenshot and contact support through the ticket form. Include the IGNITE app version (Settings > About) and your device type.
What this email is used for
- Billing receipts and renewal notices for IGNITE LIVE!
- Account recovery if you lose access to the way you sign in
- Important account and service notifications
The email address is not shared publicly and is not visible to other IGNITE users.
