Pre-Fire is the short delay between your cue firing, and your firework taking off into the air, effectively acting as the “fuse time” before the shell begins its flight. You can add a pre-fire time to events in your show to help account for this time.
Fuse times on individual fireworks may vary depending on the length of the fuse, and burn speed. Some manufacturers may list their pre-fire or fuse times, but, if you're unable to find those specifications, using a pre-fire time of 2 seconds is a good starting point for clip-on igniters.
