Yes. You can split your IGNITE modules into two groups and run each group from a different phone. Each module pairs to one phone at a time, so the two phones do not interfere with each other and there is no risk of cross-firing between them.
How it works
- Each IGNITE module communicates only with the phone it is currently paired to.
- A single module cannot be paired to two phones at the same time. To move a module from one phone to the other, you must disconnect it from the first phone and pair it to the second.
- You can divide any number of modules between the two phones. For example, with 8 modules you might run 6 on the main phone for your scripted show and keep 2 on the second phone for free-shoot extras.
Clearly label each module and the phone it belongs to before show night, for example "Show 1 to 6 on Phone A" and "Reserve 7 to 8 on Phone B". This avoids any confusion during setup, especially if both phones are nearby.
A few things to know
- If you try to run two scripted shows at the exact same time on two phones, perfect sync between them is difficult, because each phone runs its own countdown independently.
- If you want to manually fire a backup cake or reserve effect during a running automated show, you do not actually need a second phone. You can do this from the same phone running the show, see How to Manually Fire Cues While a Show is Running.
